I don’t know what it is about February, but for some reason people just become extremely superficial and stupid.
First of all… Valentine’s day.
probably the most pointless holiday of the whole year. And no, I’m not a bitter single woman who never has a valentine, I’ve been in a relationship for the past 4 years. I just don’t understand how Valentine’s day became Christmas part 2.
Like, people really go hard. Ladies go manhunting just so they can get a teddybear and a box of chocolate and I’ve seen guys drop hundreds and hundreds of dollars on absolutely meaningless gifts. Why?
Valentine’s day… if there’s a real reason for it at all… is suppose to be spent appreciating the ones you love. And, in all honesty, you shouldn’t rely on a stupid holiday to show love… you should show your significant other just as much love on February 41st and you would on February 14th.
Next is this whole Black History Month idea…
Morgan Freeman said it best when he expressed his distaste in the idea of compressing the history of entire race into the course of 29 days (leap year).
I don’t need a month to appreciate my blackness…
I, as well as everyone else, should be proud of my history 365 days throughout the year. Its as if black people all of sudden want to portray themselves in a more positive manner just because it’s February.
Don’t decide to kill the ignorance just because it’s black history month. Be just as black and proud in August as you are in February.
I’m just happy February is the shortest month of the year, because I really can’t take the hypocrisy and superficiality.
That is all.
